Packing and loading your van correctly can give you more control when towing and help prevent your caravan from snaking and swerving. This will also give more stability towing in high winds and wet weather.
TIP: If your van does start to swerve, brake slowly – avoid braking quickly.
We have highlighted on the image below a guide as to how to load up your van so the weight is distributed for optimal towing.
GREEN: Lightest items can be stored in overhead storage cabinets, and towards the front and back of the van.
YELLOW: Medium weight items should be kept below window height, and in from the ends of the caravan.
RED: Heavy items should be stored at floor level and over the axle as much as possible.
